Kluu,

There were a few other bids in the box for the TV. My memory says the highest was about $75, so the buyer could have purchased it with a bid for $76 or more. Or he could have bought it for $75 if his written bid had been placed before the other bid for the same price.

And of course he didn't get screwed. The TV was well worth the price I had asked.

Derby,

This is a really good idea and the story is well told (with a cute twist),

But what about other bids for the TV set? Did you get other bids in the box for the TV set, and if so, what was the highest? We wanna know whether the guy who paid full price for the TV got screwed!

In this post I used the term "double dipping." It has been brought to my attention that the term often has a negative connotation. This is true. Perhaps the term was not the correct one. No better term comes to mind, however, let me make it clear that Cletus earned his wages from SIA at DIFFERENT TIMES then when he was earning wages from USSA. There was no conflict of interest.

Since I spawned this post - guess I'd better respond. I did very much delight in your initial post, Derby. You sound thoughtful and creative - and surely Margaret does delight in you! She so deserves the happiness you have brought to her life!

We started out with a Mac back in the mid 80's, then changed over for 20+ years to the Windows world. Our Dell laptops were constantly bogging down and glitching up and the virus protectors created an increasingly sloooowing computer. We finally, bit the bullet and went back to the Apple - and seriously, as I said before, in 3 years, we've not had glitch one - nor do we have the layers of protection required in the Window-based machines. If you have time and are savvy, you can keep things going. Surely, there is a $ factor, don't think it is a lot, though. Love my Apple. . . If you want something more specific maybe I can engage my husband - he is MY technical support :D
Blessings, Derby!

Yesterday I went to the same building - same facility - same health care provider - but a different entrance and different department. This time there was a sign stating that a government issued picture ID was required. The sign was not present at my previous visit at this facility. This time I was NOT asked for the ID. Go figure.
